JA GHI Final General Assembly Concludes in Prague
The Joint Action to Maximise the Impact of the EU Global Health Strategy (JA GHI) held its Final General Assembly on September 2–3, 2026, in Prague, bringing together consortium partners, European Commission representatives, HaDEA, and international health experts.
Hosted by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, the two-day closed event provided a key platform to reflect on the initiative’s milestones and discuss the translation of project outcomes into long-term policy action.
Executive Review & Strategic Vision
The assembly opened with an Executive Board meeting focused on capturing lessons learned across all eight Work Packages (WPs) to inform future global health initiatives.
Day 2 opened with key addresses from former Czech Health Minister Adam Vojtěch, JA GHI Coordinator Jérôme Weinbach, and a pre-recorded video message from Sandra Gallina, Director-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE).
In his address, Adam Vojtěch recalled that the EU Global Health Strategy was adopted during the Czech EU Presidency and emphasized that the Joint Action has played a crucial role in fostering trust, improving mutual understanding, and demonstrating the practical value of the “Team Europe” approach across sectors.
Key Highlights & Outcomes
1. Work Package Achievements: WP leaders presented major deliverables and outcomes from the project’s lifecycle, highlighting successful coordination models and effective policy mechanisms.
2. High-Level Strategic Exchange: panelists and representatives from the European Commission discussed strategies to ensure the stronger political visibility, integration, and uptake of JA GHI outputs at both EU and national levels.
Looking Ahead
Beyond the formal agenda, the assembly offered consortium members a valuable opportunity to meet in person, exchange perspectives, and reinforce the collaborative networks built throughout the project.
The JA GHI Consortium extends its gratitude to the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic for hosting the event, as well as to all partners and delegates for their dedication to advancing EU global health priorities.
