Village de la Santé – Global Health Festival in Lyon at the Inauguration of the WHO Academy

Global Health requires collaboration at a global scale and a transfer of knowledge to make change and progress possible.  Which is why JA GHI is present where it happens.

JA GHI Roll Up at the WHO Academy opening ceremony

To mark the Opening Ceremony of the WHO Academy in Lyon (France), which aims to offer innovative and lifelong learning for the health workforce from all over the world, a Global Health Festival was held in Lyon from 09 to 20 December 2024.

This Festival celebrated Lyon’s rich ecosystem dedicated to health, gave the opportunity to the public to attend a variety of conferences, and brought together key exhibitors from the health sector, both local and international. This festival was an opportunity to pool energies and strengthen links between various actors, including  academic actors, the private sector and civil society, and to create synergies in the service of global health.

JA GHI was privileged enough to stand alongside other key partners, such as One Sustainable Health, Pasteur Institute, WHO regional office, Think Tank Santé Mondiale 2030, Mérieux Foundation, the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), and many more.

On December 17th, a wide range of discussions on global health were organised at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), bringing together high-level guests from WHO and health ministries, such as the French Health Minister, Mme Geneviève Darrieussecq, and the French ambassador in Global Health, Anne-Claire Amprou.

The objectives and key actions of JA GHI were presented to the French Health Minister.
