Reflecting on the EU Global Health Strategy: Insights from Warsaw

Adapting to a Changing World – 16–17 June 2025

On June 16–17, 2025, Warsaw became a hub for global health dialogue during the high-profile conference “The Present and the Future of the EU Global Health Strategy: Adapting to a Changing World.” Hosted as part of the Joint Action on Global Health Initiatives (JA GHI), the event brought together policymakers, health professionals, and stakeholders to explore how the EU Global Health Strategy (EU GHS) can respond to emerging challenges in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

This two-day hybrid event, co-hosted by the Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) and the Ministry of Health of Poland, featured in-depth discussions, high-impact presentations, and vibrant networking opportunities. It provided a platform for collaborative exploration of strategies that align national policies with the EU’s global health vision.

Session 3: EU-Funded Initiatives Driving Change
The second day focused on EU-funded projects like JA MENTOR and JARED, which are breaking new ground in areas such as mental health and respiratory diseases. Dr. Ole Petter Ottersen emphasized the importance of governance for global health equity, while other presenters showcased projects addressing antimicrobial resistance, digital health, and vaccine manufacturing.
