Strengthening Strategic Dialogue and Partnership Building in Global Health: EU Joint Action for Global Health Impact (EU JA GHI) Workshop in Berlin

On March 17-18, 2025, the EU JA GHI Co-Creation Workshop took place in Berlin, bringing together key global health policymakers and experts from both EU and non-EU countries, including members of the JA GHI consortium. This workshop provided a platform for co-creating actionable proposals to foster strategic dialogue, enhance global coordination, and prioritize joint efforts in global health.
The event was expertly organized and hosted by the in the Federal Ministry of Health, Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the Centre for International Health Protection (ZIG), as well as our colleagues from the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.
We were honoured to collaborate with high-level representatives from the Africa CDC, the African Medicines Agency, the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Fiocruz Brazil, UK Health Security Agency, the European Comission (DG SANTE and DG INTPA), and EU Member States in designing strategies that will lead to equitable partnerships and effective global health actions.
Workshop Objectives:
- ✔️ To foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration in global health.
- ✔️ To co-create the framework for a proposed “Suggestions Forum” to enhance cross-sectoral discussions.
- ✔️ To develop innovative proposals for impactful global health policies and actions.
Key Discussion Points:
- ✔️ Transitioning from a donor-recipient model to equal partnerships in global health.
- ✔️ Enhancing coordination between global health initiatives to avoid duplication and encourage synergies.
- ✔️ Establishing global health networks that break institutional barriers and facilitate better communication.
